Torquay has many interesting places to visit ...Starting at Cockington, named after the De Cockington family who held the manor from 1130 to 1350. This lovely village is well worth a visit with its beautiful church which was restored in 1882. There is a nice pub and country house which is now a teashop, bakery and local craft centre incorporating a fascinating glass blowing premises. There are also various shops and tearooms in the village centre. Cricket is played in front of the manor house on Sundays and is a venue for various concerts and entertaining events.
